Congratulations To Our 2020 Scholarship Winners!

scholar

Our law firm was thrilled to see the talent, creativity and dedication among those who applied for our 2020 scholarship awards. We received many well-researched and thoughtful entries from high school, college and graduate students from throughout the country.

The attorneys of R. Alan Cleveland, LLC, had asked students to provide an essay of 600 words or less or a video of two minutes or less in which they responded to the following question:

“What is your school and/or community currently doing to promote safer driving? In your opinion, what could they be doing?”

We appreciate every entry that we received, and we would love to award a scholarship to every applicant. However, we had to choose only two winners. The funds which they receive will go towards their costs of pursuing a higher education.

We thank every student who submitted an essay or video and wish everyone the best as they move forward.

1st Place: Mia Castle

From: Elgin, Illinois
Attending: Northwestern University,

scholar

Our contest winner Mia is a first generation college student, varsity swimming captain & MVP, Asian American Association president, tour guide, and math tutor. However, off paper, she describes herself far more exciting: She has a strong passion for community service, never misses a birthday, is the go-to advice giver amongst all her friends, and can bench more than most of the boys on her high school’s swim team. She isn’t sure where she’ll end up working, living, and thriving in the future but what she does know is that she’ll have achieved it through resilience, empathy, and authenticity.
