2020 Scholarship Essay & Video Competition
Would you like a shot at securing college scholarship funds while addressing the important issue of traffic safety? Here is your chance!
R. Alan Cleveland, LLC has put a total of $1,750 on the line in a scholarship competition to help students pay college expenses. The firm will award the funds to the students who submit the winning essays and videos addressing this issue:
What is your school and/or community currently doing to promote safer driving? In your opinion, what could they be doing?
June 5 is the deadline for submissions to R. Alan Cleveland, LLC’s Scholarship Essay & Video Competition. Full details are available online at Scholarship Website.
The first-place winner will receive a $1,000 scholarship. The second-place award is $500, and third-place is $250. The competition is open to high school seniors and juniors, students at two-year and four-year colleges and universities, and graduate school students.
Applicants have the option of submitting either a 600-word essay or a 2-minute video on the topic. A selection committee will determine the winners and announce the results by July 3.
An Athens resident Alan Cleveland grew up in Rockdale County. As a founding partner of the personal injury law firm of R. Alan Cleveland, LLC he proudly serves his community and provides skilled representation to injury victims and their families all around Georgia. Alan earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia and went on to graduate, summa cum laude, from Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School. He is also a graduate of Gerry Spence’s renowned Trial Lawyers College (TLC) in Wyoming. In his free time, Alan frequently speaks at continuing legal education seminars. He also volunteered as a youth baseball coach and assists with Georgia’s high school moot court competition held annually. Alan serves as a Trustee of Historic Athens and is a member of the Development Authority of the Unified Government of Athens-Clarke County.
